Interim Chief Financial Officer

Marlene Timberlake D'Adamo assumed the responsibilities of the interim chief financial officer (CFO) in May 2018. She brings more than 25 years of finance and investment experience to her role.

As interim CFO Marlene is responsible for managing all of CalPERS’ financial systems and risk programs including budgeting, accounting, treasury management, financial planning and analysis, risk management, prefunding programs, and pension contracting. The Supplemental Income Plan Program, the California Employers' Retiree Benefit Trust Fund, and coordination of the Asset Liability Management program all fall under her jurisdiction. As part of the executive leadership team, she provides expert consultation and advice to the CalPERS Board.

Marlene joined the CalPERS executive team in April 2016 as our chief compliance officer after serving in a number of other leadership capacities in finance and compliance, including managing director, senior vice president, Portfolio & Risk Management at PNC Bank in Philadelphia; chief compliance officer of Glenmede Investment Management; and vice president of the Glenmede Trust Company.

She is a former board member to the Committee of 70 and the Economy League of Greater Philadelphia, both located in Philadelphia.

Marlene holds a bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, from Seton Hall University, and Juris Doctor degree from the Beasley School of Law, Temple University.
