As CalPERS CEO, Marcie Frost oversees a $2.4 billion annual budget and three lines of business: pensions, health benefits, and investments. With an investment portfolio of more than half a trillion dollars, CalPERS is the largest U.S. public pension plan, administering a defined benefit retirement system for 2.3 million California public employees and their families. CalPERS is also the nation's second-largest purchaser of health care, covering more than 1.5 million lives. Prior to joining CalPERS, Marcie spent 30 years as a public servant in Washington State, where she was named executive director of the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems.

Jennifer Gonzales was appointed Napa chief of police in 2021. She started her law enforcement career in Chico in 1993, where she worked extensively in Patrol, Administration, Detectives, and Youth Services divisions. Her Napa chief of police leadership roles included serving on the NEWS (Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Victim Services) Board, California Massage Therapy Council Board, and Napa County Juvenile Justice Coordinating Council, and an appointment by Gov. Gavin Newsom to the State 9-1-1 Advisory Board. After 32 years of public service, Jennifer now provides training and education in business, educational, and professional arenas.

Marcie Kahbody currently serves a dual role as agency information officer for CalSTA and chief information officer for Caltrans. In these roles, she oversees IT responsibilities for all agency boards, offices, commissions, and departments, including the California Department of Motor Vehicles, Caltrans, California Highway Patrol, California High-Speed Rail Authority, and others. Marcie is passionate about the power of diversity, relationship-building, and innovative policy approaches. She is particularly dedicated to mentoring emerging leaders and believes that success begins with a "People First" mindset.

Treasurer Fiona Ma, CPA, is the first woman of color and the first woman certified public accountant elected to the position. As the banker for the world’s fourth largest economy, her office is responsible for providing financing for schools, renewable energy, housing, manufacturing, recycling, hospitals, and other crucial projects that better the lives of residents. She also oversees a myriad of savings and investment programs to help Californians save for what’s next in their lives. Her decades-long leadership career includes serving Californians as an Assembly member, Board of Equalization member, and San Francisco supervisor. She currently is a CalPERS and CalSTRS Board of Administration member.

Dr Diana Ramos

California Surgeon General

California’s first Latina surgeon general, Dr. Diana E. Ramos is dedicated to advancing the health and wellbeing of all Californians. In addition to her 30 years as a clinician, she has served as the assistant deputy director of chronic disease prevention at the California Department of Public Health and as Los Angeles County’s director of reproductive health. She has also held key positions with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Medical Association Foundation, Women’s Preventive Service Initiative, and the National Hispanic Medical Association. Diana earned her medical degree from USC’s Keck School of Medicine and serves as an adjunct associate professor.

She has deep expertise in public-sector transformation, stakeholder engagement, and health care innovation. She led McKinsey’s COVID Client Response globally and efforts across several U.S. states. Suzanne’s work spans state-level behavioral health, Medicaid plan oversight, public health modernization, and customer experience transformation. She is also a leader of the McKinsey Health Institute (MHI), McKinsey’s nonprofit-generating entity dedicated to improving global health outcomes and advancing health equity.

Dr. S. Monica Soni is the chief medical officer and a chief deputy executive director at Covered California, leading the organization’s Health Equity and Quality Transformation division. In this capacity, she is responsible for health equity, health care strategy, medical policy, and other clinical operations to continuously improve not only the health services provided through Covered California’s contracted health plans, but also California’s delivery system. She is a board-certified internal medicine physician with more than a decade of experience working in both inpatient and outpatient settings and continues to see patients.

Melissa Stolfi is the executive vice president and global chief operating officer for TCW. She supports the day-to-day operations of the firm’s investing businesses and helps lead strategic growth initiatives. Melissa previously spent nearly 15 years at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where she was a managing director, as well as chief operating officer and head of business strategy of the $300 billion public-equity business. She began her career with Deloitte’s securitization transactions practice. Melissa is passionate about women in investing, and served as a champion for the Girls Who Invest program at Goldman Sachs.
