180-Day Waiting Period Enhancements

Letters to new retirees and their employers will display a 180-day waiting period expiration date under service and disability retirements. The 180-day waiting period expiration date is also viewable when an employer searches for a member.

Updates to the Contribution Detail Report, Contribution Posted Detail Report, and the Payroll Report Summary

The following updates were made to the Contribution Detail Report, Contribution Posted Detail Report, and the Payroll Report Summary to improve usability.

  • BP CalPERS ID and Payroll Report Name added to the report header.
  • Special Compensation Category and Special Compensation Type added to the Contribution Detail Report and the Contribution Posted Detail Report.
  • Spanning Retroactive Salary Adjustment (RSA) and Retroactive Special Compensation Adjustment (RSC) transactions show as individual records in the Contribution Detail Report.
  • 1959 Survivor Contributions, Member Paid Additional Contributions, Employer Paid Additional Contributions, and Total Hours Worked columns are moveable in the Contribution Detail Report and the Contribution Posted Detail Report.
  • The Payroll Report Summary will sort by member category then rate plan in ascending order.

Updated position code requirements for retirement enrollment files

myCalPERS will automatically create a new position entry when a position code is submitted for a retirement appointment and the position code is not in myCalPERS.

Arrears Functionality Enhancements (Phase 1 of 3)

Enhancements for the Arrears certification process include:

  • Validating full-time hours reported for CalPERS Review Report payroll records.
  • Allowing multiple divisions to submit their portion of the employer certification under the same employer.
  • Removing Request for Employment Information letters for employer-initiated certifications.
