Jessica Alba

Jessica Alba

Founder and Board Director, The Honest Company

Jessica Alba is a Golden Globe-nominated actress, bestselling author, advocate, producer, and the founder of The Honest Company. She rose to fame with her iconic role in “Dark Angel” and has since starred in over 25 films, including “Fantastic Four” and “Sin City.” Alba also executive produced and starred in “L.A.'s Finest” and the Netflix thriller “Trigger Warning,” which debuted at #1 in 67 countries and has accumulated over one billion minutes of streaming. She created and executive produces Roku’s hit show “Honest Renovations,” with a third season set to launch later this year. In 2024, Alba launched her production company, Lady Metalmark Entertainment, which focuses on diverse, female-driven, and culturally rich storytelling. She is a passionate advocate for inclusive narratives across film, TV, and digital media. A successful entrepreneur, Alba founded The Honest Company in 2012 and became the youngest Latina to take a company public in 2021. She stepped down as chief creative officer in 2024, after leading the company to record sales, and continues to serve as a board member. Alba also sits on the boards of Yahoo, LA28, and Baby2Baby. In 2013, she released “The Honest Life,” a New York Times bestseller that explores living a natural, non-toxic lifestyle. Known for her extensive activism, Alba is particularly dedicated to social justice issues affecting women and children and has made several trips to Capitol Hill to advocate for change.

Carla Vernón is the chief executive officer and a board director of The Honest Company (NASDAQ: HNST), a personal care company dedicated to creating cleanly formulated and sustainably designed products spanning categories across diapers, wipes, baby personal care, beauty, and apparel. In her role as CEO of Honest, Carla brings her legacy of business transformation and growth to the company along with experiences that reflect the diversity of Honest’s consumers. Carla is responsible for defining the enterprise growth strategy and driving a financial and business transformation that delivers value for Honest's many stakeholders.

Prior to joining Honest, Carla was vice president of consumables categories at Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) and was responsible for P&L, the supply chain, and technology development of the household essentials, beauty, baby, wellness, food, and beverage categories. Before joining Amazon, Carla was a corporate officer at General Mills (NYSE: GIS) where in her role as operating unit president of the natural and organic portfolio she led General Mills to become the second largest manufacturer of organic food and initiated the food industry’s largest ever commitment to advancing regenerative agriculture.

Carla holds a bachelor's degree in ecology and evolutionary biology from Princeton University and an MBA from The University of Texas, McCombs School of Business. Carla serves on the Board of Trustees of the National Museum of the American Latino and recently completed her tenure as a trustee of Princeton University.

Entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist Richelieu Dennis has a passion for entrepreneurship and innovation that traces back to his family’s roots in Africa and that is sustained by a vision to fill unmet consumer needs. As the founder, CEO, and executive chairman of Sundial Brands, his passion has resulted in the 27-year-old family-founded, run and operated manufacturing company’s success as the maker of top hair, natural, bar soap, and bath and body brands.

With the landmark acquisition of Sundial Brands by Unilever, Richelieu negotiated the largest natural personal care deal ever in the U.S. and also the largest consumer products deal by a majority black-owned company. Most critically, he and Unilever created a groundbreaking $100 million New Voices Fund to invest in and empower women of color entrepreneurs.
