Additional Discretionary Payment Deadlines For Fiscal Year 2025-26

June 8, 2026
Circular Letter: 200-025-26
Topic: Actuarial

To: All Public Agency Employers

Purpose

The purpose of this Circular Letter is to inform you of the deadlines related to Additional Discretionary Payments (ADP) toward your unfunded accrued liability (UAL) for fiscal year (FY) 2025-26.

Background

Additional Discretionary Payments (ADP), together with your required UAL payment, may better accomplish your agency’s specific objectives regarding either smoothing out projected future payments or achieving a greater reduction in UAL than would otherwise occur when making only the minimum required payment. These additional payments are allowed at any time and may also result in significant long-term savings.

ADPs received in FY 2025-26 can reduce the required UAL payment for FY 2026-27. If you would like to use an ADP to reduce your FY 2026-27 required UAL payment, the ADP must be received no later than June 24, 2026.
