Profile

This is Troy Johnson’s first term on the CalPERS Board. He has worked for the Sweetwater Union High School District since 2002 as a senior administrative assistant in the Special Services Department. He began his public service career in 1992, and he has served in leadership roles with the California School Employees Association (CSEA) since 2002, fighting for fair wages, strong benefits, and retirement security.

Johnson currently serves on the board of the California School Employees Association as an area director, representing the members in San Diego and Imperial counties in two roles: as a fiduciary on CSEA’s Investment Committee, and as secretary to the Dorothy Bjork Humanitarian 501(c)3 fund, which provides assistance to CSEA members in need.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from San Diego State University and certificates in finance from the Harvard School of Business and the American Management Association.
