SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The CalPERS Board of Administration has elected the following chairs and vice chairs of key board committees:

  • Investment Committee — Bill Slaton, Chair; Rob Feckner, Vice Chair

Slaton was first appointed to the CalPERS Board in 2012, and again in 2015 by Governor Jerry Brown, to represent local government. Slaton served three terms as president and one term as vice president on the Sacramento Municipal Utility District board of directors. He also served on the Policy Makers Council of the American Public Power Association and served as its chair in 2015. An employee of the Napa Valley Unified School District, Feckner was first elected to represent school members in 1999 and is now serving his sixth term. He served as board president from 2005 through 2017. Feckner completed training programs from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Programs, the Stanford Fiduciary College, and the Trustees Masters Program.

Other Investment Committee members are: Margaret Brown, Adria Jenkins-Jones, Henry Jones, Dana Hollinger, Fiona Ma, David Miller, Eraina Ortega, Jason Perez, Mona Pasquil Rogers, Ramon Rubalcava, Theresa Taylor, and Betty Yee.

  • Finance & Administration Committee — Theresa Taylor, Chair; David Miller, Vice Chair

Taylor is serving her second term, having been elected in 2014 to represent state members. She has been a CalPERS member for more than 25 years, and works as a principal compliance representative for the State Franchise Tax Board. Taylor was also the elected vice president/secretary-treasurer of the statewide Service Employees International Union Local 1000, where she oversaw the organization's $62 million budget. Miller is serving his first term on the CalPERS Board of Administration. He brings to his role over 25 years of public service specializing in environmental regulatory programs, pollution prevention, environmental technology development, and performance management. Miller is currently employed as a senior environmental scientist with the California Department of Toxic Substances Control.

Other Finance & Administrative Committee members are: Margaret Brown, Henry Jones, Fiona Ma, Jason Perez, and Betty Yee.

  • Risk & Audit Committee — Dana Hollinger, Chair; David Miller, Vice Chair

Hollinger, a 25-year veteran of the life insurance industry, was appointed to the CalPERS Board in 2014 by Gov. Brown to serve as the insurance industry representative. She served on the Women's Leadership Board to the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University from 2004-12, and is a sought-after speaker and author of articles on tax and estate planning. Miller is serving his first term on the CalPERS Board of Administration. He brings to his role over 25 years of public service specializing in environmental regulatory programs, pollution prevention, environmental technology development, and performance management. Miller is currently employed as a senior environmental scientist with the California Department of Toxic Substances Control.

  • Pension & Health Benefits Committee — Rob Feckner, Chair; Ramón Rubalcava, Vice Chair

Feckner is serving his sixth term on the CalPERS Board of Administration. He served as president of the board from 2005 through 2017. He has worked for the Napa Valley Unified School District for the past 42 years, where he is currently employed as a glazing specialist. Rubalcava is serving his first appointment to the CalPERS Board of Administration. He has worked for SEIU Local 721, the public-sector union serving workers in Southern California, for over 30 years, initially as a researcher, and currently as the director of Member Benefits and Employer Relations.

Other Pension & Health Benefits Committee members are: Margaret Brown, Henry Jones, David Miller, Eraina Ortega, Mona Pasquil Rogers, Theresa Taylor, Betty Yee.

  • Board Governance Committee — Henry Jones, Chair; Dana Hollinger, Vice Chair

Jones is serving his third term on the CalPERS Board of Administration. He currently is serving as board president. He retired in 1998 from the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), the second largest in the nation. As chief financial officer, he oversaw LAUSD's $7 billion annual budget. He also headed their Annuity Reserve Fund Board overseeing the pension fund for 7,000 schoolteachers and administrators. Hollinger, a 25-year veteran of the life insurance industry, was appointed to the CalPERS Board in 2014 by Gov. Brown to serve as the insurance industry representative. She served on the Women's Leadership Board to the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University from 2004-12, and is a sought-after speaker and author of articles on tax and estate planning.

Other Board Governance Committee members are: Rob Feckner, Jason Perez, Mona Pasquil Rogers, Ramón Rubalcava, and Bill Slaton.

Elected board members generally serve four-year terms that begin January 16 the year after their election and end January 15.
