Investment staff to discuss details of solicitation on June 22

SACRAMENTO, CA - The California Public Employees’ Retirement System will host a webinar regarding the upcoming Transition Manager Solicitation on Thursday, June 22 at 11:00 a.m. PDT.

The goal of the CalPERS Transition Manager Program is to generate appropriate risk-adjusted returns while meeting the Fund's strategic investments needs. The webinar will explain the qualifications for transition managers in the two asset classes initially participating — global equity and private equity. Additionally, specific asset class timelines will be discussed during the webinar and made available to all applicants.

The solicitation will open July 11, 2017 and close in late August. The solicitation is open to all qualified managers. Firms do not need to be past participants of CalPERS' Emerging & Transition Manager Programs to submit a proposal.

"A few exceptional firms that fit within the transition manager parameters will be selected and have the opportunity to execute their investment strategy," said Clinton Stevenson, CalPERS investment director, Investment Manager Engagement Programs. "Our objective is to invest with firms that have demonstrated early stage success and provide them growth opportunities so they may one day compete for entry into our pool of larger established managers."

Interested parties may register for the webinar on the CalPERS website. Individuals can also subscribe to receive Manager Solicitations & News.
