January 29-30 Event at the DoubleTree by Hilton
SACRAMENTO, CA - The California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) is hosting a CalPERS Benefits Education Event (CBEE) in Rohnert Park during January to inform members in an eight-county area about programs and benefits available to them. This event will take place at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Sonoma Wine County on Friday, January 29 and Saturday, January 30, 2016.
There are nearly 70,000 active members in Contra Costa, Lake, Marin, Mendocino, Napa, Solano, Sonoma, and Yolo counties who can benefit from this event. Whether new to CalPERS, in mid-career, or close to retirement, the CalPERS CBEE offers all CalPERS members a wealth of information about their retirement and health benefits, supplemental savings plans, long-term care coverage, and more. Representatives from CalPERS Regional Offices will be on hand to answer questions.
Open both Friday and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the event features breakout sessions specific to both early through mid-career members, and those nearing retirement. Topics to be covered include CalPERS retirement benefits, CalPERS health benefits, and deferred compensation. The deferred compensation session is sponsored by the California Department of Human Resources' Savings Plus program. In addition, sessions on my|CalPERS (Member Self-Service) and Social Security will be offered.
Another CBEE will be held in Northern California in February. This will be at the Embassy Suites Monterey Bay in Seaside on February 26 and 27, for CalPERS members in Fresno, Merced, Monterey, San Benito, San Luis Obispo, San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Santa Cruz counties.
