SACRAMENTO, CA – The California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) will hold a live candidate forum on September 16 to inform voters about their choices in the 2014 Board of Administration Election. Candidates for the state and public agency open seats will deliver remarks and answer questions from audience members during the forum.

The event is open to the public and will be presented by the League of Women Voters of Sacramento County. A live webcast of the event will be available for those not able to attend in person.

Board Election ballots were mailed in August to eligible, active member home addresses, with the voting period running through September 29, 2014. All state and public agency CalPERS members active as of
July 1, 2014, are eligible to vote. Results of the primary election will be determined during the week of September 29, 2014.

WHO: The candidates for the state member position are:

  • David Miller
  • Iqbal S. Badwalz
  • Theresa L. Taylor

The candidates for the public agency member position are:

  • Leyne Milstein
  • Priya Sara Mathur (incumbent)

WHEN: Tuesday, September 16, 2014, 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. PT

WHERE: CalPERS Headquarters Auditorium, Lincoln Plaza North, 400 Q Street, Sacramento, CA. The Lincoln Plaza North, Q Street parking garage entrance gate will open at 4:00 p.m. for public access.
