JJ Jelincic is serving his second term on the CalPERS Board of Administration.
He is a veteran employee of CalPERS with a wide range of investment experience, having worked in the global equity, fixed income, and real estate units of the Pension Fund's Investment Office. He helped establish the CalPERS futures program, ran the stock trading desk, and contributed to CalPERS' corporate governance initiatives.
JJ is a past president of the California State Employees Association, a national labor group that represents 230,000 active and retired state employees. Prior to that, he was chair of the California State Administrative, Financial, and Staff Services Bargaining Unit, a District Labor Council president, and an active steward.
He was appointed in 2004 by California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to the California Performance Review Commission.
JJ has a bachelor's degree in economics from Saint Mary's College, an M.B.A. in finance from Golden Gate University, and he holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
1Elected Board members serve four-year terms that begin January 16 of the term and end January 15.
