Jason Perez is serving his first term on the CalPERS Board of Administration.
He is a sergeant with the Corona Police Department (CPD) and supervises the Training and Technology Bureau as well as the Field Services Division. Jason has served in law enforcement since 2000, contributing to different CPD divisions as he built up a broad base of law enforcement expertise.
Prior to his current position Jason served CPD as a detective, patrol officer, and motorcycle officer.
He has served on the board of the Corona Police Officers' Association (CPOA) since 2008, where he has held various leadership positions, including labor grievance chairman, Police Officer Association director, and lead contract negotiator. He is currently president of CPOA and a member of their political action committee.
Jason has received numerous awards, including Employee of the Quarter (2018), Chamber of Commerce First Responder Award (2016), unit citations for Active Shooter Training (2015) and Investigations for the Gang Task Force (2014), and Peer Recognition Award (2014).
He also volunteers in his community. He serves as president of Corona Life Services, a crisis pregnancy medical clinic and teaches English as a second language for the local Head Start Program as well as shooting safety for the Boy Scouts of America.
1Elected Board members serve four-year terms that begin January 16 of the term and end January 15.
