CalPERS is committed to responsible information handling practices. When you access or use our websites, you agree to the terms and conditions published here. Please note that the privacy policies or statements of other websites linked to the CalPERS On-Line website may differ. CalPERS is not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.

To complete CalPERS customer business online, we sometimes need to coordinate efforts with other parties, such as the State Controller's Office, employers, or health plans. Information will be used only to conduct CalPERS-related business including electronic notifications of educational events and surveys. The use of CalPERS On-Line and my|CalPERS is voluntary, and if you do not wish to conduct electronic business with CalPERS, our staff is available to assist you by phone at 888 CalPERS (or 888-225-7377) or you can visit one of our eight Regional Offices located throughout the State.

To stay current, we reserve the right to update our Privacy Policy as needed, and your use will be subject to the most current policy version. You should check these policies from time to time.

CalPERS has a responsibility to protect our computing resources. If we believe an attempt is being made through the Internet to break into or otherwise abuse our computer systems or business information, we will use the information in our computer logs, and other means available, to determine those responsible. As part of these legal efforts, we may share the information we gather with law enforcement agencies or other authorized entities.

Saving Your “View” & More Information on Cookies

CalPERS On-Line has information specific to your member or employer group. By selecting one of the member or employer views, you’ll get the information that is most relevant to you. You can also choose to save your selection so that CalPERS On-Line remembers it for all your visits. Saving your selection will place a “persistent” cookie on your computer. These simple text files do not expire after you close your session. They do not collect any personal information or identifiers about you, and if you want, you can clear them from your computer at any time. If you do delete them, you will need to select your view each time you visit our site.

In addition, to maintain the functionality of our interactive website and our online services, “session-based” cookies are used. These cookies let the site know where to return the information or business transaction results you request by creating a temporary, randomly generated identifying tag that expires when you end your browser session.

If you turn off the cookie option in your Web browser settings, you may not be able to access some of our online information and services.

Limitation of Liability

While CalPERS makes every attempt to ensure the information provided is reliable, human or mechanical error remains a possibility. Therefore, CalPERS does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or correct sequencing of information, and will not be held responsible for any errors or omissions, or for the results obtained from the use of the information. This applies to any websites linked to and from CalPERS websites.

If there is a conflict between the information provided on our websites and the California Public Employees' Retirement Law, any decisions will be based on the law and not the information on our websites.
