Dependent Eligibility Verification Project
We know health care coverage is important to you and your entire family. As part of our commitment to control health care costs, CalPERS is conducting a project to ensure dependents enrolled in the health benefits program meet the plan eligibility guidelines so that only eligible dependents are covered. Therefore, it is important to validate that your health care dependents meet CalPERS eligibility criteria and that you make necessary enrollment changes in a timely manner, if applicable.
Amnesty
The initial phase of the DEV project includes an amnesty period that runs from now through June 30, 2013. If you have one or more dependents on your health plan, you will receive a letter with further details on the DEV project, including dependent eligibility criteria and an Amnesty Disenrollment Document. During the amnesty period, we encourage you to carefully review the definition on an eligible dependent and identify on the Amnesty Disenrollment Document all ineligible dependents who should be removed from your health plan.
All amnesty disenrollments must be completed prior to June 30, 2013. Download a copy of the Amnesty Disenrollment Document (PDF, 39 KB) if you cannot find the one you received in the mail.
