SACRAMENTO, CA – The California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) announced that Dan Dunmoyer has joined the CalPERS Board as Governor Schwarzenegger’s appointed insurance industry representative.
Dunmoyer replaces Marjorie Berte who has served in the same appointment since January 2005.
“We welcome Dan to our Board,” said Rob Feckner, President of the CalPERS Board of Administration. “His strong background in the insurance industry and in public service will be an asset to our Board and our members and employers.”
Dunmoyer currently serves as the Senior Vice President and Head of State Legislative and Regulatory Affairs in the United States for the Farmers Insurance Groups of Companies and Zurich Financial Services.
Prior to that, he worked for Governor Schwarzenegger’s Office where he served as Cabinet Secretary and Deputy Chief of Staff from 2006 to 2008 and Deputy Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor for Policy Development from 2005 to 2006.
From 1996 to 2005, Dunmoyer served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Personal Insurance Federation of California (PIFC), the largest and leading personal insurance line trade association in California. He has also served as the Chief Administrative Officer for the Republican Caucus of the California State Assembly where he was a representative for legislative and public policy strategies and managed a 60-member staff.
Dunmoyer is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Master’s degree in Public Administration.
