CalPERS Issues Statement in Response to Concerns by Assembly Speaker Pérez and Chairman Bonta

SACRAMENTO, CA – The California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) issued the following statement in response to concerns raised by the Legislature over the use of Additional Appointments by the Pension Fund:

"CalPERS understands the concerns of the Speaker and the Chairman and agrees that they deserve a complete understanding of how this practice is used. CalPERS staff have already been meeting with the Speaker's staff and look forward to explaining why this human resource tool was important to CalPERS during a unique and critical time."
