CalPERS Retirement Planning Fair in Santa Clara

SACRAMENTO, CA – The California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) is hosting retirement planning fairs this summer to help our members plan for a more financially secure future. The final fair of the series will take place in Santa Clara on August 30.

Events were scheduled in various locations throughout the state for the convenience of all CalPERS members. Santa Clara County has more than 30 agencies employing more than 125,000 members who belong to CalPERS. Member cities include Santa Clara, Los Altos, Campbell, Cupertino, Gilroy and others, as well as fire protection districts, water districts and sanitation districts.

The Santa Clara fair offers numerous information booths and regularly scheduled workshops on various retirement topics. The workshops do not require reservations so members can drop in at their convenience. Whether retirement is close at hand or decades in the future, members will find a wealth of information on supplemental saving plans, Social Security and health benefits after retirement. The California State Teachers’ Retirement System will also have a booth for their members in the region.

More detailed information about the final 2012 CalPERS Retirement Planning Fair, including pre-registration, maps, driving directions, parking, exhibitors and workshop schedules is available on the CalPERS website at www.calpers.ca.gov/retirementplanningfairs. Members are encouraged to pre-register to aid CalPERS in planning for staffing and materials, but it is not required.
