Located in Sacramento, one of the most affordable metropolitan areas in California, CalPERS is conveniently situated near world-class cultural and recreational centers, such as San Francisco, Lake Tahoe, the Sierra Nevada, the California coastline, Napa Valley, Sierra foothills, and Delta wine regions.
You can enjoy the variety of activities Sacramento has to offer – such as fishing, boating, art, theater, and a hometown family environment – or take a two-hour drive in any direction to enjoy camping, skiing, and other resort activities.
Where We Work
CalPERS is headquartered at Lincoln Plaza, 400 Q Street, in downtown Sacramento. Our state-of-the-art facility has received numerous awards for not only its architecture and office space, but for its full range of amenities. These include secure underground parking, onsite day care center, full-time security force, landscaped decks and terraces, onsite cafe, fitness center, and a full range of audio-visual capabilities.
Lincoln Plaza is conveniently located near regional public transportation. Our Alternative Commute Program offers a variety of commute assistance alternatives to employees. In 2003, CalPERS was designated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as one of the Sacramento region's "Best Workplaces for Commuters" for meeting the National Standard of Excellence in commuter benefits.
We also have eight Regional Offices located throughout the State in Fresno, Glendale, Orange, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Jose, and Walnut Creek.
