Retirement Benefits

CalPERS provides retirement benefits to members of all the various programs we administer.

CalPERS Retirement Benefits

CalPERS covers State and school employees, and employees of contracting local public agencies.

Judges' Retirement System Retirement Benefits

This program is available to judges appointed or elected before November 9, 1994.

Judges' Retirement System II Retirement Benefits

This program is available to judges appointed or elected on or after November 9, 1994.

Legislators' Retirement System Retirement Benefits

The LRS provides benefits to members of the Legislature elected prior to November 7, 1990, Constitutional Officers, and Statutory Legislative Officers.

Volunteer Firefighters' Award System

The Volunteer Firefighters' Award System is no longer administered by CalPERS. It is now under the California State Firefighters' Employee Welfare Benefits Corporation.
